The Midori MD Notebook A5 Blank has a clean and simple design, featuring 176 blank pages that give you total freedom to express your ideas, sketches or journal entries. Crafted using traditional Japanese threaded binding, the notebook opens flat from the first page to the last.
The notebook features MD PAPER, their original paper that prevents smearing and bleed-through for comfortable writing, especially for fountain pen fanatics.

The MD Notebook has marked its 15-year milestone in 2023 and in honor of the occasion, MD PAPER has given their MD Notebook line-up an updated feel. A highlight of the renewal is the cover, which now features thicker and stronger signature MD Paper — inviting us to treat the cover like a canvas too.

Midori MD Paper | Misc-store Amsterdam
MD Paper is Midori’s pride when it comes to the art of making paper. Being a stationery manufacturer from the 1950’s, MD Paper can be described as part of their blueprint. Ever since Midori made MD Paper in the 1960’s, they have not stopped the process of improving the quality. The result is paper that will not stain, or bleed and is fantastic to write on, especially with a fountain pen.
Not only the paper itself has been developed carefully, also the method of binding deserves special explanation. The MD Notebooks are bound by means of stitching; a large sheet of papier is folded into a bundle of 16 pages. Then, such bundles are bound with thread. This method enables the notebook to open entirely flat, ensuring ease of writing, without a bumpy middle.
To honor this method of binding, Midori has left the cover uncovered, so its spine exposes the cheesecloth tape, which is used to reinforce the bounded paper. The MD notebook comes with a wax paper cover.
