Sphere Incense Holder

Balancing carefully on a brass ring – don't mind the old saying – the Sphere Incense Holder was made by Sumitani Saburo Shoten, a Takaoka-based firm of metal-crafters. Takaoka is notable in Japan for its 400-year tradition of metallurgy, and especially of brass-casting; other brands, like S/N and Futagami, are also based in the region. This particular incense holder was designed by Masataka Sumitani,  a third-generation craftsman at Sumitani Saburo Shōten.

This Sphere Incense Holder is 16mm in diameter, and its hole is 3mm in diameter, so it should fit any standard-sized incense. Remember to put something underneath it to collect the ash – like a Hasami porcelain plate
